Date Night

For the last night as "Brenda & Ace" we went to dinner at PF Changs..."How spicy would you like your chang sauce?" Big day tomorrow, can't wait to meet you Baby Barajas. :)

Just not ready...

Monday we thought that Baby Barajas would be born today. After going to Brenda's last doctor appointment, Dr. Suris double checked his calculations and decided that it was best to push the date to Monday. We were first disappointed, but now are thankful that the doctor is doing everything he can control to give Brenda and Baby the best chance for a healthy delivery.

The Countdown

So our waiting has gone from months to weeks, from weeks to days and now in about 72 hours Baby Barajas will be arriving. Brenda will be checking into the hospital on Thursday morning (April 29) to deliver our first born. It is hard to describe all of the feelings and emotions that we are feeling, but I will sum it up with one word...excitement.

Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers. Please continue to pray for Brenda and Baby. It is comforting to know that we have so many family and friends here for support.

Big News...Ready or not, here I come.

Brenda had her regularly scheduled appointment yesterday and they put a baby monitor on her belly and did a stress test to check the baby's heart rate. According to Dr. Suris things were good. Brenda told him that she had a really bad headache on Monday and the nurse had taken her blood pressure and it was a little high. Her blood pressure reading at the doctor's office was a little high as well. The Doctor had the nurse check it again after having Brenda lay down for 5 minutes on her left side. The second reading was normal, but he did not like that it was creeping up compared to her earlier readings during the pregnancy. He decided that Brenda needs to stop working and he scheduled her C-section for April 29, a whole 2 weeks before her due date of May 15! At first we were both shocked, but after that reaction came the realization and excitement that we are going to meet Baby Barajas in 2 weeks. I guess I better get to finishing his room and putting the crib together.

Getting things done and Happy Easter!

Baby Barajas is arriving very soon...we are about a month away! Last week, we installed a new floor in our living room and future baby's room. Special thanks to Pete and my brother Xavier for all of their help. We could not have done it without you.

Brenda and the baby are doing well. He will be here before we know it. Here are a couple of recent photos of Brenda being pregnant:)

Our First Shower

Well Baby Barajas had his first Baby Shower given by the Council side of the family. It was a lot of fun and of course we had some good laughs with all the family there. Thank you to my family for making this shower a great one. Here are a few pics.

We are looking forward to our the Barajas' family shower in April:)

The Stretch Run

Wow...Since the holidays, time has really flown by. We promise to post more often in the upcoming months. We are at the turn, less than three months away from Baby Barajas' due date! (May 15)

I will start out with a quick update on the progress, Brenda has had a couple of routine appointments and the doctor says she is doing great. Since our last post, Brenda took her gestational diabetes screen and was borderline so, she had to go back for the 3 hour glucose screen, which sounded like a lot of drinking of sugar and 3 separate blood draws, ugh. Brenda made it through like a trooper and thankfully, Dr. Suris told us at the last appointment that the tests came back perfect.



Note the boxes in the background. I think we both realized here recently that Baby Barajas is going to be here before we know it. No more waiting around. We are in "get organized" mode so we can make room for the little guy. We are pulling out boxes full of stuff that I did not know we even had.
He's already starting to get stuff!
